Admission Requirements
To enroll, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 17 years old. High school seniors require parental consent.
• Proof of Age: Submit a government-issued document such as a birth certificate, valid passport (book or card), state-issued driver’s license, or state ID.
• Educational Requirement: Provide a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. If you do not have these, you must pass the Ability to Benefit Test.

Kristy Béké: A Pioneer in Natural Hair and Beauty Education with over two decades in the natural hair and beauty industry, Kristy Béké is a trailblazer dedicated to empowering stylists and uplifting the community.
As a salon owner and celebrity natural hairstylist, Kristy has passionately advocated for the rights of natural hair practitioners, pushing back against restrictive licensing requirements that often overlooked the unique expertise of natural hairstyling. After witnessing the impact of COVID-19 on the beauty industry, Kristy recognized the critical need for enhanced education in sanitation, infection control, tool disinfection, and scalp health.
She realized that these elements, alongside superior customer service, are essential to success as an entrepreneur in natural hair care. This inspired her to establish a Natural Hair Braiding Academy, where she educates stylists in these vital areas while guiding them through licensing processes and the challenges of running a business legally and effectively.
Kristy’s academy is a sanctuary for those seeking proper training, certification, and support to build their own paths as skilled, licensed professionals—free from fear of unlicensed practice. Her mission is to equip the next generation of natural hair stylists with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in the beauty industry.
